This is a preview of sorts of a KiSS (Kisekae Set System) doll I've started work on. It's based on Chii from the anime and manga Chobits.
The base (including hair and Persocom ears) is by holliness (from this website: [link] Holliness' DevArt page for that stuff is here: [link] and the specific originating image is from here: [link]). The dress is based on Misato's famous black dress from the science fiction anime & manga series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The doll (which I'll probably be working on forever, heh) is a sort of a theme doll, which will basically have Chii in various sci-fi, fantasy, anime and manga costumes. And Goth Loli outfits, because c'mon, she's practically DESIGNED for Goth Loli costumes. XD Coincidentally, does anyone know if that UltraKiSS program works with Windows Vista? 'Cause I recently got a new computer, and that's what's on it. -.- It seems to function well in the online version, but there appears to be a downloadable version as well, and I'm curious to know if anyone has tried MAKING a doll with it while running Vista...? NOTE: Since the base for the doll belongs to Holliness, if you want to make your own doll based off of this same base, you have to go to Holliness' site, OK? Holliness seems really cool about how they're used, so long as you credit where you got it from, and there are some other really great bases there, so it's worth the click! |

I've registered for Otaku World's forums, but I haven't gotten the admin's approval yet so I can't post there yet.
It sounds like just about any of the major KiSS programs worked on Vista as of Nov. 2007, at least somewhat, but some of them like DirectKiss and PlayFKiss were a little buggy. OW's software section wasn't much help on this front either. Oh well! I'll see, eh? I'm hoping UltraKiss will work well, since it has more tools for KiSS creators from the sounds of it (I played around with the online version and discovered you can look at the source code for a doll, for instance, which should be handy while I'm learning to make them!), and can convert BMP to CEL, and I'm one of those weirdos who does all her initial work in Paint, because she is either a semi-luddite or a masochist. XD
I've got a bunch of pictures of Misato's jacket now for visuals, don't know when I'll be able to finish that piece though. I should probably actually do the other Misato pieces, like the red version of the dress, the black turtle neck and red foldy skirt, the cross necklace, shoes and socks first. I just know that jacket's going to be complicated XD Especially since I keep wanting to do zipped and unzipped versions and include folds in the cloth which is always hard to do well in Paint.
I'll let you know if I get any of the other major pieces on that one finished. ^_^ I'll probably post them if I get the chance. Should I put them in Scraps, though, since they're part of a work in progress? Hmm...
